Good DFM is the key to speed up mold design lead time and discuss everything with mold engineer and part designer before mold design. In order to show the customer mold design concept and better understanding of the part quality requirements, we will provide the DFM for every mold to get customer initial feedback before mold design.  See below are the DFM content list.

DFM Workflow

When we get an offical mold order, will start DFM immediately. Below are the normal procedure how we do internally.

  • Check the official CAD data and document from the client, if anything is not clear, will communicate with the client immediately.
  • Arrange a kick-off meeting with our team to discuss the mold design concept, potential part issues, and solutions.
  • Mold designer makes the DFM according to the kick-off meeting.
  • Mold design manager will double check the DFM when the designer finish it.
  • Project manager  does final check then send to client.
